I was just at the San Francisco Ferry Building last week. I thought about how when it opened it, it was a one-of-a-kind and cutting edge way to buy food ingredients and giftwares. But now? Now it is dated and its trendiness is nothing but annoying and trite. The Alma De Pueblo is an idea behind its time, too.

Wow, decent article...until the end with HORRIBLE advice!! Do NOT put out rodent bait in the open under any circumstances. Pets and kids can be exposed and injured or have permanent liver damage, and it's very bad for the ecosystem with raptors (owls, etc.) ingesting it...then you have a net gain in rodents with predators poisoned. And cats should be indoors only. Cats DIE getting caught in the fan belt of a car when they go their to seek warmth. Sure, they "like the warmth," but that doesn't make the suggestions in the article sound.

Really, you had to include the comment about square nuts? That's crass, not appropriate to quote in a journalistic situation, and makes me wonder what the analogous quote would be if a woman was the focus of the story.

It's pretty petty and short-sighted to object to a photographer using photos on their website, or giving away prints here and there. After all, the photos themselves bring attention to stories the News Press covers. It's free publicity for the paper the more his photos are seen. Cant' they see we see through this? I think he should sue, and get a nice settlement. It smacks of retaliation. I wonder how Wendy will feel on her deathbed some day. Will she finally feel like she got even enough and rest in peace THEN?

What a cruel person to transport horses crammed together in inadequate space, then take a turn too fast and cause their suffering and death. He will probably only get a minor conviction. Shameful.

For fun, do a search online of "Danielle Steel Hedge" to read about the attack on her gargantuan 20' hedge in San Francisco. Gives our hedge wars some perspective!

PLEASE leave the East Beach Grill alone!! It's a nice, laid back, easily accessible, and affordable place for students, locals and tourists to get a nice meal at the beach. Not everything has to be a high end monstrosity.

It's not a private medical matter when blood is all over the street and a business. Rather, it's very much a PUBLIC health matter. At some point, the plethora of homeless people in town, many of whom are in poor health mentally and physically, will catch up with us.

Needless to say, it's a HUGE deal that a boat can land undetected on the shore at a U.S. military base. There's probably little to stop terrorists from breaching a nuclear facility, either. They not only landed, they unloaded a ton of drugs, then moseyed on their way. To...somewhere in our community. Pretty scary.I wonder if anyone will be held accountable. Also, grammar note: the horses were not deployed; officers on horseback were deployed, or mounted security was deployed. Riderless horses grazing don't do much for security.
