Here is another BIG problem I have with this Hitler-like public shaming: It clearly says the people are SUSPECTED and that the individuals pictured have been CHARGED but NOT convicted. What if they are innocent? How will the Independent give them back their reputation?
I agree that forcing someone to be a sex worker should be a very serious crime, but can't we wait for a conviction before we plaster someone's picture on the net?

@ Bill Clausen and NoletaLady:
Thank you for the kind words regarding my ode to a Santa Barbara that existed when I was young and that is long gone now. I have seen the comments from a few angry folks that think I'm a crybaby for pointing out the changes, but I am really just grateful that I was there then and got live it.
As I mention in my song, I WAS sorry to see Santa taken down from Santa Claus Lane, but I guess that's what they call "progress".Thanks also to everyone who took time to listen to my little song. If you have any power to get it "out there", I will be most thankful.http://youtu.be/41NijsSu_6I

Newcomers should keep their mouths shut and their ears open. The rules are in place so that everyone can keep the meeting place without getting evicted. Some people think the rules do not apply to them-I know this because I was once one of them! But to hit an old-timer in the face? At a meeting? Just not cool at all.
