The UCSB alerts stated the address of both robberies as 6530 Seville Road. Not surprisingly this address was not given by the minimal information queen SBSO PIO Kelly Hoover and changed to simply the 6500 block of Seville. All subsequent news stories are not identifying the location of the robberies as the behemoth new Icon Gardens development at 6530 Seville Road.
The Icon Gardens has been an eyesore, noise nuisance and trouble spot since it was allowed to be built by weak zoning requirements, politicians like Doreen and Das, pandering to developers and lack of a legitimate city government here in Isla Vista.

On Five Arrested for Robbery in Isla Vista

So…someone set off something resulting in two extremely loud explosive sounds which shook local buildings about 5 AM Tuesday morning according to a witness. The police and “the news” seem not to be reporting this. So was it actually the police who were setting off bombs in the middle of the night in the middle of Isla Vista? Would Lt Ray and the SB County Sheriffs office care to admit or deny this?

The skateboard park near the former Perfect Park was built incorrectly and is already closed and fenced off like the trees in Children's Park.

There were a number of students who asked to serve till the November elections. They were eliminated from consideration when they didn't know the answer to, "what's the total acreage of isla vista parks?". Pegeen Souter, a long time IV resident with her family and children was also not selected. As expected long time crony of Chair Bruce Murdock and the current board majority Ken Warfield was chosen. Four of the five Isla Vista Recreation and Parks Board positions are on this November's election. Please vote wisely.

From exactly where in the Isla Vista Recreation and Parks budget will Chair Bruce Murdock and the current board find the many thousands of dollars for the sudden removal of these huge Eucalyptus trees?

Goats huh Cat?
If Cat Neushul's next story is about anything other than the IV foot patrol's Christmas day massacre, Diane Winkelman's death or the IV Parks Board attempt to pass an ordinance closing IV parks at night then I think she should be replaced by The Independent with someone more informed and less biased.

These last two comments sound like they were planted by Billy the local developer's employee here or someone with the ICON company. We don't need luxury apartments for priviledged students; we need a shelter, food programs, healthcare, better policing and less hate expressed by the IV foot patrol and the IV parks board. See the story http://www.edhat.com/site/tidbit.cfm?...
to see where Isla Vista is really headed. The parks board wants the homeless out of the parks or dead so these luxury apartment residents if they are rented won't have to look at the disenfranchised and discriminated and hungry and homeless and down on their luck or suffering from dual-diagnosis in Anisq 'Oyo park. Well it's January 2012 and there still isn't a plan to restore Perfect Park. It's still a wasteland.
