What happened to the billions of dollars worth of gold boullion that had been kept in the basement of the WTC? Why wasn't the site of this catastrophe treated as a crime scene? Why did we watch, day after day, hundreds of trucks, carting away debris, that should have been carefully analyzed? Where was the plane debris after the "crash" at the Pentagon? Our government knew that they could work this scam on the "scared sheep" of American citizens...shameful.

The Bowl is a place to enjoy the music, have a few drinks and party...everybody knows this. If you don't like this type of atmosphere, then, perhaps this venue is not for you. But I feel that all three activites can be enjoyed conscientiously, without being rude to those around you. I'm constantly amazed at the ridiculous behaviour of concert goers at all SB venues; generally speaking, the constant phone ringing, chatting and, over all, self absorption of these people make, what might have been a killer evening, not so enjoyable. Can't we all just get along?

Ahem...the southbound freeway was closed to zero lanes. I was on the fwy at that time and, although I did not witness the landing, did experience an excrutiating 1-hour wait, sitting in traffic from Fairview to Patterson. Traffic was diverted off at Patterson by the CHP. Despite the fact that I missed a colleague's wedding shower, it's miraculous that no one was seriously hurt or worse. I say "viva la" investiation! This was a life threatening situation and an investigation is in order.

Jeff's visions are fun and fanciful and I love that about his work, but the Chapala monstrosity is too big. How much are those units, anyway? Shouldn't our talented home boy be focusing on affordable, sustainable housing for all? Didn't this building go belly-up because of the greedy bankers funding it? This city is ridiculous...

Please enjoy the event responsibly, people. Last year was a drunk fest, if ever there was one...leaving the Museum was scarey...

For the city of Goleta to allow a business to fail, without hearing the golf course's proposals is disgusting. Small town...small minds...

I came over the pass towards home Thursday night and saw the first flames of this fire. As soon as I got home, 10 minutes later, nothing on the news, online, radio...nada! I logged onto the Independent's website and Ray Ford was there with good, solid reporting and pictures of what I just saw ten minutes earlier...wow! The Independent has been the only real constant source of information...thank you, thank you for being there for us during this stressful time!
