We saw her and the band last night at the Bowl. Sharon and her band were GREAT! They were - by far - the highlight of the evening!

Given that it would not be contiguous with the rest of Goleta City, it wouldn't legal. State law prevents cities from repeating moves similar to when Santa Barbara City added the airport from going out into the ocean.

IF he is found guilty, and he is presumed NOT guilty, does he still get his County pension? It would seem that IF he is found guilty, then he was committing a felony while employed (although this does not involve County funds).

Editor: IF he is convicted, does he get to keep his County public safety retirement? Committing felonies while a County employee? (And yes, I know it wasn't County funds.) As part of pension reform, I believe the State included language about convicted felons not receiving their pensions. After all, if convicted, he'll be getting room and board at our expense. It would be so perverse if he also got a public safety retirement.

@John_Adams: I agree. Both sides needs to give a little. The parade should be a fun time. The float has banners saying, "Take Better Care of Our Vets" and "Peace Is Better Than War". While I agree with these setiments, they are political statements as much as anything.

Clearly the organziation has an opinion; one that I respect. Handing our phamplets asking me to take political action by contacting my member of congress detracts from the weekend.

Historically this city has gone more than far to support this organziation. If they want to participate in the parade, they need to take a break and maybe give us a break too.

Just to be clear, this is not a "County" employee as the title suggests. It should read, "Former DISTRICT Manager...".
