The article reports that..."only Gaviota and More Mesa beaches offer sections in which people can folic nude without the threat of citations". Which section of those beaches? Are there signs?

Incredibly informative article -- I'm so grateful -- many blessings to all who are fighting this fire, and all who are affected by it.

Dear Snapolis -- the distance is deceptive -- I am much further west, almost at El Capitan, and I can see the flames from here as well (becuase I am at 1200 ft elevation) -- I just drove here from Turnpike & 101 area and I can say that the flames are no further west than Turnpike as of now.

Can someone explain to a Film Festival Newbie how the tickets and passes work? I'm interested in seeing some of the films, but I have no idea how to get a ticket, or what the priority structure is for seating. I've scoured the sbiff.org website and schedule, and this week's Independent, but there are no hints. I guess we're all just supposed to know how to do this. Does one just show up for a movie, but a ticket there, and get in?

While I love the food, I have found the service to be substandard. And I think the prices are too high for what you get. But I do appreciate that they are sensitive to helping people with special diets, and that they contribute to the community by having the healing nights. Perhaps, over time, the service will improve.

Decisions like these remind me of why I supported the County Split. Sure wish that had succeeded! I don't want people from North County to have the right to make Goleta look like Lompoc or Santa Maria.

Re: volunteering -- I did hear Janet Stanley of the Red Cross say on the radio yesterday that people who are interested in volunteering could call the Red Cross.

On Gap Fire Reaches Critical Stage

Posted on July 2 at 3:28 a.m.

Because of my vantage point, I can see that the fire has advanced down the hillside. It seems to have spread out on the hillside, reaching more in the direction of the coast. I would imagine the smoke is getting more intense in west Goleta. However, evacuation orders have not changed since Tuesday evening around 9 pm.
