why is the independent taking such efforts and investagation or rumor gathering to make a case against the shooter?
Just from the above comments the dead lawyer started out by lying to the seller about waiting five years to start construction.
This is not at all the first case I have heard about were a lawyer used their ability in the courts to get out of paying for the construction of their home.
Our so called Justice system does not work at all for all the reasons that make it that way and this is the result.
One guy built a beautiful home and the other was a leach, but that being said, I am not saying it has anything to do the tragic ending.

all you who want people to buy local can kiss my uknow until you stop shopping out of town for construction trades, especially those who use illegal immigrants.

Its common to hear community leaders talk about buying local but when it comes remodeling a downtown store they would have it built by a contractor from china if it was cheaper.

Very upsetting also is when a government union employees (cops teachers and so on) do not support skilled union building trades people to do work on their house and even use lawbreaking undocumented immigrants to do the work.

its the same all over you have teenage idiots (not all teenagers are idiots, actually saw one wearing a t-shirt that said she was a "mature teenager", seems they are aware of the problem) who seem to be' nice people' in charge of the lives of little children.
One driver and 15 kids on a field trip last summer (Boys and Girls club) to goleta slough area, all their shoes and stuff taken up by the incoming tide after they wade across to the sand bar and are isolated by the incoming tide.

A group at surf camp, the college kid-future teacher- sitting in her beach chair talking away with someone, not watching her "students" as the kids body surfed into the rocks at college point, after a close call they decided to relocate.
My daughter broke her arm at preschool, after being pushed off the climbing structure while the adult in charge was right there, but with her nose in the book she was reading.
Seems its "not cool" to be careful.

They should have kept the fire out when they had it out. Yea we know "the wind", in my opinion they could have put it 'all the way' out.

No one dare criticize the authorities.

They bring in the super tanker after all hell breaks loose, they should hit these fires with everything available (and make it available) when they are first reported.
The authorities do things the way they want to regardless of the results and if one looks at the results of fires in the country, its the same.
Someone ( "stupid citizen" ) reports a fire on a super hot dry area loaded with fuel and the authorities send out an airplane, by then the fire is out of control, or the tea fire and they get a call of fire from local "crazy" lady and they ignore it.
