food and cuisine seems fine. business and economics appear dismal.

if its not generating enough foot traffic, and more importantly repeat business, then its hardly the thread's fault.....is it.

as for the condo sales, which is really what the developer cares about, the lack of closings also points out the business and economic shortfall.

business and economics. at least the nugget ( never eaten there) has a profitable business model.

uh huh, sure. like they say, if the public market was a car, the only thing holding it up would be the kerb.

maybe its because the length of time in between customers is so long the wait staff need to be retrained.

anybody tell the new condo owners about the new apartments on their block.

lets face it, the market place is a rapidly approaching dust bowl. the noodle company will resurface elsewhere with lesser rents, but the majority will be in the used restaurant hardware business.

the whole place is indoors. SB is an outdoor kind of town. when you drive or even walk by it, unless you knew beforehand it was there, it is easy to miss.

in theory, the whole SF ferry building schtick sounds appealing but the reality is, there is no way foot traffic in that area will generate enough sales to pay the huge rents.

everybody knows tourists rarely venture above carillo/figueroa and state.

as for locals, they might visit on occasion, but locals are cheap.

SF ferry building gets 5000 commuters a day thru there, not counting tourists....to suggest Victoria marketplace would get 2500 daily is laughable. i bet the 500 number is high too.

the retailers are mostly local, did they not realize this?

marge must be a glengarry glen ross kind of closer.

this is a weird one. told the school, but not the police? its not the publicity of going to the police, that's for certain.

its almost as if she wants the rapist to get into the school kind of punishment, ( which is laughably lenient for a rape) but not the locked up for years and get his rapist ass beat in jail kind of punishment.

her story of time and energy is also very weak. did she know this guy previously, hence the not exactly a full court press on the bad guy.
