No, please not at the Sea Center. That place is run so badly. It is an embarrassment to the community.

Stinky: Perhaps the airport could open the facilties out of good will? Does this need to be spelled out for you?

Is no one unhappy with the city of Santa Barbara for sending fire supression to Santa Maria? How many homes and wildlands could have been saved in the Gap Fire and now the Tea Fire if planes could be reloading with retardant at the Santa Barbara Airport instead of flying to Santa Maria and then flying back? There the facility sits - unused. It is criminal - and all in the name of the almighty dollar!

One thing that will "benefit families and kids who want to fish responsibly" is to get some patrols out there! The gang problem is huge. It is totally unsafe. The gangsters do their best to intimidate and bully non-gang members and start something with rivals. I heard that the cops are afraid to get involved out there. I was told that if I wanted to fish safely to do it off the beach.

Is anyone wondering why all the fire fighting stops as soon as the wind dies down? Why didn't anyone jump on the fire when it first started and was small? Why is it left to smolder and no fighting occurs until the winds kick up again? Why is the SB Airport "too small" to accomodate fire retardant planes - or are the facilities left empty because the airport increased rent? The last three fires - Gap, Tea and Jesusita could have really used planes that could drop retardant quickly. And they are having to fly to Porterville to refill now? Santa Maria isn't ready because it isn't fire season? How about some outrage about the wildlands being lost or from the homeowners who have lost their houses?
Someone has to say the emperor has no clothes. No thank yous from this quarter until I can hear some explanations.
