Both accidents on the 154 were preventable- we had another 2 car crash in the intersection of the 154 this evening - Feb 22/2015.
Both accident #1 and #2 involved LOCALS. Not Chumash Casino patrons, not LA folks here to wine taste. LOCALS making poor judgment calls on pulling out directly in front of traffic moving at 55+ mph.
We need to seriously discuss people making better decisions while driving the Valley- the passing, the speed, the ME FIRST attitudes and the chances people are taking with other folks lives.
We also need to discuss making the 154 a County road, taking it off the Hiway status and giving SB County local jurisdiction over the speed and enforceable traffic patterns. Traffic should be 45 from the round-a-bout through past Figueroa Mountain Road- period.
On Two Dead, Five Injured in Sunday Highway Accidents

I spent Sunday visiting beaches on the Gaviota Coast- and I saw more people lolly-gagging on the tracks that I care to comment on.
Who in their right mind would walk on the tracks? A child I can understand, but an adult should know better, and top it off with being on the phone.
If this gal was visiting a homeless person, perhaps who was in need of assistance, I supose she was calling asking for help, maybe setting up a Drs appointment for this person- most likely she was in spaced out moment.
Please folks, teach your kids that trains do not leave the tracks- so you need to stay off them!

I am not surprised the judge tossed the lawsuit- as he said, its out of his jurisdiction / they have "rights".
I am not against Camp 4 having homes and if it true, a golf course. It has never been built on, and now that "certain people" own it and it looks like its going in their favor, so far - about being able to build. I am not sure why not one previous owner had rights to build on it, but now its okay- but I no one is asking me.
Massive traffic- well its pretty jammed as it is, the 154- so how any more cars can fit without massive improvements is beyond me. The commuter traffic and GPS fed travelers & of course tourist & casino bound travels are already keeping it at peak amounts dawn till dusk.
I really hope that at some point, a true representation of what is planned comes out/ is revealed. Its the right thing to do, to calm nerves and maybe it will even make some peace. Maybe.

Defender Jennifer Archer, who successfully lobbied the judge to deny media photographs of Wadford. She cited the fact that Wadford is African American and was worried images of him in custody could taint the jury pool. “It’s a small town, and this is a big case,” she said. The judge intimated that the media would be allowed to photograph Wadford at a later date.
Know how to keep your clients photo out of the media- alert him to the fact that keeping your hands to yourself and not killing your baby momma is good start.
Nobody cares what color he is in the tomb.

yep- the law is the law.
As a parent of a enthusiastic sports player- I cannot agree more that a bond is made between coach and player, and to abuse that is beyond punishable.
While I can agree that the under age person plays a part by sometimes, not always- but sometimes participating by flaunting the attention and even encouraging the adult- the adult must refrain. Period.
I can also agree that with the media and internet, cases are more available to read about, I don't think they are happening more often- just are more reported.
I am going to arm my sports enthusiast with an earful when I think its needed.

The accident has injured a local legend and very well liked man- the response is normal for an overturned vehicle. We are all praying for Fred Chamberlin- and hope you are too.

Any local knows- they offer a BURGER Pass at the kiosk, which gives you 45 minutes, which is plenty of time to order and eat a burger & fries.
As far as the park finally offering reservations- now it is equal for all to get a reservation, and they leave 35% available to drive ins.
While I might not like the exposure Jalama has gotten- I would rather share than not have it at all......

Why no mention of the history on the walls of the sitting area? That has taken a lot of work and son Mike has done a wonderful job curating it!
