@Sevendolphins, I happen to have the CA Driver handbook and it states "Necessity of family member including yourself, when adequate transportation facilities are unavailable and you need personal transportation or to transport a family member. You must carry a signed statement by a parent/legal guardian verifying the reason you must drive and the probable date the necessity will end" So possibly he was legally transporting his brother.

Thank you Indyholio, finally a little common sense spoken. Like I said above, this is just a very sad story and I am not a Capps supporter, but the blame is on one person only and that's the drunk driver! I too wish this case would get thrown out, but they will probably just settle.

SBSand, I too have similar questions and feelings as you. While I am so sorry Mallory died as a result of this drunk driver, I do not understand how this is anyone's fault but his own. Also, I may be wrong but I thought that as an adult, it would be her estate that is responsible for the bills, not her parents... I feel that he is the only one that is responsible and should be sued.

Aww I am sorry to read this. I really enjoyed the years I got to work with Al at Day & Night Graphics and then seeing him up at Rose Cafe or around the Mesa. He was a fun guy! Much love to his family during this sad time.

It really seems to me that this article was written because you had nothing else to write about or were in the mood to talk poorly about other people. I was hoping it was all a joke, but I guess not. I don't have one, but I find the stickers cute and that is about all the thought I put into them. Never would I look at those and think they were bragging or being self-absorbed or self-centered. It seems to me after reading this, that the author may just be jealous or having a hard time managing her own brood. For some people, it is hard to "make kids" and some not even possible. I too am a "modern" parent with two teenagers, and I can maintain my identity and always have. What a whiney, disappointing view Starshine

I agree with Priceless. I live in Northern SB County and I read about the home invasion right after it happened. It was in the news...

@Fivedolphins - I couldn't agree more! Just this week as I was jogging with my ridgeback/dane mix, a loose pit came charging out of the bushes and tried to attack my dog. Just as I got the pepper spray out, it backed down and I was able to run off. But my leg was scratched and my dog is limping... I was told by animal control to carry pepper spray for this exact reason. It was a pretty scary situation for a bit and I am glad we got away ok. However, even though I called animal control, then the police to report an agressive dog at 6:24 pm, it took until 9:45 am the next day to actually get someone out to pick this dog up.
