I too had section 8 for a few years while I got through city college and then found a good paying job. Section 8 is a great program and helped me out a lot! However, I had to tell my kids that getting a dog would have to wait until we did not have to rent in SB. Having a dog is expensive and yes, not welcome in SB rentals. I had to get rid of a beautiful lab, but it was worth it to have a safe roof over my head. Sometimes you must make sacrifices to stay in SB, or move to Santa Maria, Ventura or Lompoc.

I am sorry to hear about Mrs. Broyles' passing. She was a favorite teacher at Adams School. The picture is just how I remember her.

Well I have to say it, although I do not completely dislike her music, she is not appropriate for a high school concert. It is one thing if the kids go to see her play, but for a school to allow her to sing and act like she did on a public campus... Singing about gays, making fun of someone who did not date her, come on! Her lyrics are just not the message that should be sent to our kids.

Not that it matters where he lives, but if I am correct, the portion of Mountain he lives on is in the 93103 zip code and not 93108. So Montecito has nothing to do with this article, right?

"his car came to rest on the lawn... he got out and was angry"
Are you kidding me! He has a serious problem and at the least should have to be re-tested for his driver's license. How old is he anyways? This behavior is a bit too much. These are not the signs of someone thinking clearly.

I agree that it is too bad the smaller dog was killed. However, as the owner of a large dog that I always walk on a leash, I cannot begin to tell you how many times he has been challenged by an off-leash smaller dog. My dog is not and has never been vicious, but keeping him leashed is better than worrying about a child or elderly person getting bumped. It does not mean that he is a problem. It appears as if the smaller dog was causing the problem, and the larger dog went into protect mode.

That was beautiful, so well written, and brings tears to my eyes. Wilma was a wonderful lady and will be missed by all of us.
