Lesterville, WY - Prince William and his new wife, Kate, may be wowing them at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racket Club, toasting the town with Hollywood's own royalty, and making a statement that "they care" by watching a dance group in the Skid Row section of LA. But another British royal couple is experiencing a different kind of reception as they tour the United States during their first weeks of marriage.

Geoffrey Bainbridge and his new wife, Vicky Mainard, formerly of Las Vegas, NV, are traveling the States in somewhat different fashion from the Prince William contingent. Bainbridge, a second cousin once removed from William, is listed as being 22nd in line to inherit the British Crown.

Upon arrival at Kennedy International, Bainbridge and his wife received no official welcome and carried their own luggage to the taxi island where they were unceremoniously driven into town and their two star hotel in lower Manhattan. . .

A little late in commenting but it takes a week for even the electronic version of The Indy to reach Seattle. Last time I visited SB, I was sorry to see that Earthling was gone. Now that was a loss. Can't summon the same emotion for a chain store. Was also saddened, years ago, when Osborne's, (where I had worked just after college) the original downtown bookstore, twisted into a giftstore for tourists.

Enjoy our rain. . .
