fenwayne-
To clarify- The blue teardrops are points of interest used for reference, not firelines or spot fires. The actual fireline is the highlighted pink area farther up in the hills. Hope that helps.

Sorry about the map disappearing. It's back up now. It wasn't intentional, just a matter of all of us trying to edit things at once.

Hey "InTheKnow"-
It's not just Glaucoma. You should educate yourself before you get on your soapbox. Cancer patients, AIDS patients, people who suffer from Neurological disorders, Arthritis sufferers- all benefit from the use of marijuana. The facts are that it's about as addictive as chocolate or caffeine. Why you care about what people do behind closed doors in the privacy of their own home is beyond me.
Would you rather have it be regulated, taxed, and safely distributed, or should we go back to the dark ages of the black market? People are going to smoke pot regardless, so what would you prefer? All those clubs that you seem to despise pay taxes just like any other business.

Uhh... How would you know he's from the east coast? And why should the homeless shelter be billed?

OK, I understand your frustration, but that doesn't justify sick people being denied their medicine because of a few isolated incidences. In your circumstance, the grower was being highly irresponsible and had violent tendencies to begin with. That shouldn't be a blanket excuse to shut down everyone, including dispensaries not even in residential neighborhoods. Sounds to me like LasBrisas has a good idea. Hopefully you don't actually believe that all medical marijuana providers are violent criminals.

Hey Alexander-
How do you know that they are running "illegal grow houses"? State law (which was voted into effect by the people of California by a large majority) dictates that medical marijuana is legal. How would you know the difference between a legal medical growhouse or an non-medical illegal one? And where's the violent behavior? The only violent behavior I've heard of stems from the real criminals who try to rob medicinal marijuana providers. I think they would like to provide medicine to sick people in peace too.

Although I recognize the moral of the story. If this is the same Rita Solinas I met as a freshmen in high school in 1966, and the smile in the picture says it is the same lady? There is no possible way this woman could ever have been guilty of falsehoods.
In summer school of 1966 in Visalia, CA I met this kid Jeff, being a kid from one of the rural communities outside of Visalia, I have never figured out why I got invited to a party at his house.
Jeff had these great parents George and Rita, having no real parental guidance myself, (in fact I was probably every parents worst nightmare) over the next year or so Jeff and I became the best of friends. In every sense of the word Rita and George became my surrogate parents, I would have walked through fire if they had asked me.
As a kid It never occurred to me that Rita was Mexican, she was Jeff's mother and whether she realized or not for that short time she was my mother too.
Rita was always involved with the community. The town of Visalia had a large Mexican community and Rita spent many hours working with Mexican youth, I am sure she is remembered by the youth to whom she gave so much, if not there is always me and I will never forget.
