Interesting review. I went to the show not having heard any of his recent songs, except "Somebody That I Used to Know". Although I was familiar with Gotye as an independent artist in Australia some 10 or more years ago.
I found the musicality and performances exceptional, his singing transcendent, and the video and song synch-ups impeccable. I thought the show actually proved he's a force to be reckoned with, who will be around for many years to come.
"Hearts a Mess" was one of the standout tracks of the night, and it's a pity that never became as big a hit as "Somebody", as it's every bit as good a song.
It seems that we were at the same show, just depends which lense you were viewing his talent through...

This is easily the best film I've seen at the festival. It is haunting and moving, with a pace that allows it to breathe. The tones, colours and shots are so perfectly framed and it's a great moral tale set within the context of the dramas of one family.
It's one of those films that leaves you thinking about it days and days later...
Exceptional. I agree.

What an incredible film. What I found most amazing was the fact that most of the dialogue and action in the film is taken from documentary footage, interviews with the protagonists, newspapers and court transcripts.
I find it an an incredible achievement in integrity to remain that true to the facts.
What this film can tell us about the rise of terrorism in the modern era is sobering as well.
Compelling and essential viewing.
