According to Kettmann you also " hide" by using DrDan. Does that make you a coward? Gnarly and nasty,,, I' ll accept that. I just have the opinion that Kettmann stinks as a writer. You might remember his three sentence article on Casmalia. As for wine stories,,, just look at all the wine lovers who commented on this last novella. I hate wine, drunk drivers, and lousy writing. My comments are just as welcome as yours, unless we don't live in America anymore!!!

This is the topic that matters Bill,, so sorry for your loss. This is what Quality Journalism should be focusing on. It looks like KEYT did a service to the community by reporting on the problem incurred by "wine tasting". It also looks like Kettmann' s article was wrong when all the facts point to an increase in drunk drivers,,,,, all because of an industry that has created a tourist that drinks and drives.

I thought using a personal attack ( cowardly) was against Independent guidelines. My only comment to you Sir ,,, is in my opinion you are a terrible writer. I use oldtimer and other posters use their " handle " . That is up to the person who posts their comment. If that does not meet the guidelines of your paper, please let me know. Using words like " guts" and " cowardly" is out of line. Will you please ask your boss to review this. That is if you have the integrity to have your comments reviewed by those in charge of setting the rules for commenting in the Independent.

Hey Kettmann , how about writing about: Drunk drivers in Santa Ynez,, or interview the Highway Patrol and get their take on " wine tasting". Perhaps how the Independent can help the community expose an over abundance wine making instead of another pro wine industry article that just helps to create another myth about the evil grape.

A+ Bill,,, all these people thinking expensive grapes = people with great taste and are are somehow immune from just being plain drunks. Writers like Kettmann promote this. Show the downside to winemaking,, it doesn't create a cultured society. It creates drunk drivers where wine " tasting" is encouraged.

Another boring story by Matt Kettmann. Readers comment on the stories they care about. No comments about " bud breaks" ,,,, looks like someone needs an editor.

The rules of public lands need to change with the times. What was ok 40 years ago is not ok today. The Forrest service Always has an excuse. They only react after the issue. It comes down to this: if Hunters and Hikers try to use the same area,,, these problems will only increase. Next time it could be someone's child,,,
