Thanks for tellings about the advance down the sisquoc.
Take a look at inciweb's daily maps going back to the 14th, and you will see how much Inciweb has failed to correctly potray the advancing front. For days they failed to show the advance that others were describing. On 8-18-07 they showed a map with western advance older than the one they showed on 8-17-07. The map they gave on 8-17-07 was the first to be accurate in quite a long time.
We had to go to geo-mac :

and thankfully SBCF shows an accurate map:

% containment woiuld likely be close to the previous level, had not the formula for calculations been changed.
The percent contained now reflects the control strategy for the entire fire, including the direct fire lines that have been completed and indirect fire lines that are in place and being improved. The fire has not jumped any containment lines and is still within the control objectives set by the Incident Commanders.

WLF feels back fires could start tomorrow....
...furthermore ...Saturday, August 11, 2007
From the Joint Unified Command: Los Padres National Forest and Santa Barbara County Fire Dept :
"Within the next couple of days, Fire Commanders will start burnout operations along many of the contingency lines. The purpose of the burnout operations is to create a black line to stop the forward progress of the fire. The burnout operations are expected to go on for several days and will generate significant smoke. "
