What sets Fresh and Easy apart is that it is non union along with Costco, TJ's and Whole Foods. The unions are killing Vons, Albertsons, etc and they are going the way of the dinos...

On Cap Pensions, Don't Destroy Them

Our city, county, state, and federal government are fiscally bankrupt with no chance of recovery because the pay, benefits and retirement plans of public employees far exceed the private sector. When a public employee retires with benefits for life it is essentially the same as giving them a multimillion dollar annuity plan. The system is collapsing and it is time for real reform of public employees pay and retirement benefits. NO on tax increases of any type until real reform is made in this broken system.
PS: A comment for Dan: starting your opinion piece with name calling doesn't help make your argument any more persuasive.

We all need to be urging the school board to face the reality that the compensation and retirement benefits that they have committed to for the teachers are impossible to fund and have to be reformed. Retirement age has to be moved back to 65 and retirement benefits have to be moved to defined contribution. There simply will not be enough money at any time in the future to pay these benefits under any economic scenario.

Marborg has had fantastic service and has given back to the community for years. Allied was a pretty sucky company until they magically reinvented themselves a year or two ago. It takes more than just painting some butterflies on your trucks to build loyalty. Right on Marborg!
