And from what I've seen and heard, the majority of the people are OK with it, including Gold Star families. The city "allowed" it because they understand that we are exercising our first amendment rights to free speech. The names of the KIA are published on-line and if we hear of a family not wanting us to use their loved one's name we honor their wish. We have never had a lawsuit filed against us. Respect for the dead is first and foremost of our priorities.

If we were doing it for political reasons why did we keep going after the Bush administration ended, and a Democrat was in house?
The reason we set up our demonstration is because we wanted to educate the public as to the cost of war - nothing else. There have been extremists over the years that have accused us of other reasons, but our mission has always been one of peace.

I thought this letter was written sarcastically, or in jest, the first time I read it. After reading the comments I see I was wrong. I have tried every way I could to figure out the logic presented, but it escapes me. I just hope that the majority of folks don't feel this way.

I checked out Lamberton's non-profit website - www.spiritof76sb.org - and it claims that politics are not allowed in the parade. However, I remember seeing the Tea Party in his parade more than once. Also, I noticed that the Tea Party is a funder of the non-profit. Is it legal for political parties to fund non-profits? Also, after the parade there is a free concert in the courthouse with patriotic music, during which time Lamberton takes advantage of the situation and lathers praise on the Tea Party. This is definitely a one-sided affair.

Right on Bill Clausen. Our prez is planner, judge, and executioner all in one. The administration's excuses barely qualify as legal. The number of innocent victims greatly outnumbers the supposed terrorists killed. So far almost 200 children have been murdered.
Drones are the next generation kiss of death used for many victims. (Zero US casualties is the rationale cited). The Veterans for Peace have a drone model on display at Arlington West at Stearn's Wharf on the first Sunday of each month. Check it out for more information on US drone attacks - your government is responsible for these attacks. And coming soon to a city near you, drones, sometimes as small as a mosquito, used for monitoring US citizens.

I'm sorry you feel unsafe. That must be awful to feel like that at such a young age.
The problem is not so much with the Israeli people, as it is with the Israeli government. Israel is based on a lie, as is the United States. We stole the land from the natives, and Israel stole the land from the Palestines, and they continue to steal to this day. We used the lame excuse of manifest destiny, and Israel used the excuse of divine will. As long as they continue to occupy the Palestinian land, there will be uproar, no matter how "generous" the Israeli government is.

Totally agree with you on your last point, Alex. How about some shots of blown-up babies and children, and the tortured faces of their parents? As usual, the innocent are the ones that suffer the most. According to a 2001 study by the International Committee of the Red Cross, the civilian-to-soldier death ratio in wars fought since the mid-20th century has been 10:1, meaning ten civilian deaths for every soldier death.
