Clint's recent films are quite the opposite of your take DJ. they are thoroughgoing critiques of macho values and the whole complex of 'white male' attitudes . Gran Turino is clearly this as Kowalski finds his humanity in relation to the Hmong and in his renunciation of Dirty Harry style action. The portrayal of his sons ads further bite to the critique. Eastwood becomes really intriguing if we strip him of the 'arch conservative' stereotype.
