I cannot believe it didn't pass. I heard there were still millions of votes still uncounted (absentees). People have been so brainwashed by the television that they are not even thinking reasonably...

On Since GMOs won't be labeled, I'll

We must vote "yes" because it is in our best interest to know this information. 92% of Americans would like GMO's labeled. In Europe all products containing more than .9 percent GMO are labeled as such.

Also, presently: 93% of all soy, 86% of corn, and 93% of canola seeds are now genetically modified.

This is our chance to take back our power of CHOICE in what we eat, whether we want to eat this stuff or have some concerns! Let's vote together.

My son was attacked at Goleta Beach a few years ago and the dog wouldn't get off him in spite of my efforts. The owner finally showed up and was able to call off the attack. I did call the police and they got a meager ticket. It left a feeling of terror for both of us.

I now carry a stick and have used it before at Goleta Beach when three unruly dogs all started jumping up at me for no particular reason other than I was walking by them on the beach. The owners threatened to kill me and engaged in more trouble. I called 911 and the police came, I had gotten their license/car make before they scurried off. Turns out they got "tickets" too, or unlicensed dogs.

Nowadays, a dog comes up to me and I do a kick into it's face if it comes into my rear side. I wish dog owners were more responible. I always thank dog owners who have their dogs on a leash and carry the poop back from the sand. I wish everyone would do as you.

I have a solution: Community Compost! Seriously, the waste you want to put down your garbage disposal (thus into the sewage treatment plant), can be easily used by many people who compost, farms, and the many community gardens.

At Earth Day, there was a bin everywhere with the trash for just compost. If they can collect it for that event, they could collect it for everyone. We just need to ask for it persistently!

We have Jackaranda trees in our neighborhoods in Noleta. Talk about nuisance! They have ripped up the sidewalks, driveways, streets, causing $$$$ of damage. Also, they drop leaves and flowers which are acidic and damage cars and acidify soil. Let's get rid of the street trees that are totally inappropriate for a track home neighborhood where there is little room for huge, sprawling trees! There are plenty of other choices.

We really need more liquor stores around I.V. -- NOT! Where's good common sense? It was sold for the almighty dollar.

I highly urge readers to consider this carefully. Drug companies are pushing for us to all have flu shots, but are they really safe? Are they really protecting us from anything or are they giving us more toxins into our bodies? I urge you to look online for info on this controversial topic, particularly Dr. Mercola's material.
