I'm not entirely convinced by what Matt tellingly labels as "spin." The national economy may indeed be having a significant effect on retail in SB. As my for mother-in-law was fond of saying, "No peddler goes around crying, 'Rotten fish for sale'."

We've had enough of the Bushes, Cheneys, McCaws, and all the other vultures who live off the blood, sweat, and tears of decent Americans. These evil creeps need to be sent packing. It's past the time for outrage. Let's make our voices heard, and boycott anything that these people have their grimy hands on.
Start off the new year by boycotting ALL News-Press advertisers, big and small, no exceptions. That includes garage sales.

Fascinating to contemplate that humanity may be just one more of Mother Nature's evolutionary experiments, fated to go the way of all dinosaurs. Oh well, let's see if the cockroaches can do better, unless we've managed to feminize their guys as well.

Makes you kind of warm and fuzzy all over. But you got your SUV, the loan lenders (kinda reminds you Jesus and the moneychangers) got their huge commissions, and our beloved president moved closer to achieving the neocon goal, which was spending borrowed money on war so there wouldn't be any left over to spend on those damn government programs for infrastructure and other horribly wasteful things that actually did some good for the people at the bottom of the feeding chain, the ones who actually pay the taxes.

Ah, Starshine, it's hard for a woman to contemplate the depths of the male ego in full bloom.

The N-P fiasco is not over, and it's not time to move on. Right now the publishers continue to operate an unfair and unbalanced operation, past and present employees are denied their legal right to collective bargaining, and Santa Barbara still lacks an adequate daily paper.
