Biography: Peter Melnick is the Social Action chair for the Community Shul of Montecito and Santa Barbara, and was recently appointed president of the Shul. He also sits on the board of Santa Barbara ADL. Along with his wife Laini and two children, Melnick has lived in Santa Barbara since the early '90s.

A composer for musical theater, film and television, Melnick's credits include the scores for LA STORY, FARCE OF THE PENGUINS, and the upcoming PBS documentary EXILES IN HOLLYWOOD. His musical, ADRIFT IN MACAO (book and lyrics by Christopher Durang), ran Off-Broadway in February-March 2007.
