I have lived in SB for 24 years and know that at some point I will hit that age or time when i will start to complain about how good things use to be. I think that no matter where you live, the same complaint is universal. It's part of getting old. Rather than complain, adding your wisdom and knowledge so that newer generations don't make the same mistakes. Technology moves at rapid pace. I am sure that delivery drones, self driving cars, and crazy technology will bug me, but be embraced by the newer gen.

I was there shortly after the incident, so i saw no action. What baffled me is when I got on the scene was why a visibly majorly injured man was laying on the ground in a pool of blood with cuffs on. They let him lay there for what seemed like a long time, when i witnessed the police walk the other guy into the Mercado area, sit him down and interview him on the other side of the food booth away from the back of the restaurant. We were trying to guess what happened, who may have been at fault. We left thinking that the guy bleeding must have clearly done something big in front of witnesses in order for the police to be confident to let him just lay there in his own pool of blood. The other guy was unscathed, but visibly upset and aggressive in his manor. Without details, its hard to tell. I think there was tons of witnesses, and I believe he may have a valid case if he can get someone to testify on his behalf. Police officers have a hard duty during fiesta, and usually use zero tolerance. This was near the end of the night and most people had left the plaza, so it was not a packed fiesta riot atmosphere by any means..

I think the people worried about the dangers of second hand smoke are off their rocker, and trash into the ocean? The worst counter argument ever! I think its just disgusting, ruins people's lives...and in my analogy, it would be like going down to the ocean on a nice day and smelling the ocean breeze and fresh air, then sitting on a bench next to a pile of doggy doo.. College is like high school, a place where people smoke because it seems cool. Replace those cigarette areas with areas for kids that want "to get medicated" on some herbal goodness.

@Byrd I am not advocating skating on Skate Street.. i walk and give pedestrians the right of way.. my comment was talking about the heap of art that is creating problems.. if it was something worth skating on I would have a whole slew of skate buddies clearing out the riff raff bums so we could skate it.. btw.. I haven't met a fat guy that can handle my right hook to the face. now get out and jog!! I skate, work and respect the walking public foremost (i too enjoy walking without a skater running me over, but its really rare that it happens where i feel in danger, if so I will tell them skater to skater).

Ken, thanks someone agrees with me. you are right, come to think of it, i would hate to see this create precedents, whereas future cabs would lock people in and make people sign release forms if they prepay. I think the number of bars would not make a difference. and BTW, my stance on pot is that it should be legal, but for arguments sake, my buddy was high off his arse and backed over my roommates foot (broke 2 toes) and backed into our garage door causing extensive damage.. I am for personal responsibility and stricter limits for tort litigation.
