Biography: ABOUT STUDIO MUSIC GROUP: We now have TWO LOCATIONS to serve the community. One for music lessons, where students can receive the individual attention they need to progress in their musical endeavors; the other where bands can practice any time day or night to get that perfect sound, prep for tours, or just JAM.
Owner Steve Stockmal has been teaching and performing music here in the Santa Barbara area for over a decade. With 7 books written & published on music he brings a lot to the table, striving to make each performance and each lesson special.
A Santa Barbara native, Steve has toured all over the world as a drummer, singer, and guitarist. He has performed a wide variety of musical styles in almost every venue one could imagine.
An honor graduate of MI (Musicians Institute in Hollywood, Ca) he brings his vast musical experience, personal touch, and humor to his lessons.
Since opening in April 2010 parents continue to support us all over the Santa Barbara, Montecito, Hope Ranch, and Goleta communities, to find stellar music lessons for their children.
“Every lesson I teach includes the whole gamete…note reading, songs & licks, technique, relaxation, repetition, learning tips, life lessons, and most important laughter.”
