WHy did we go? OIL, Oil, oil, of course! To control that resource, which was by Iraqi law a nationally controlled resource, and is now (by the laws that we wrote for them) controlled by international conglomerates. These BIG OIL (and Cheney's Haliburten) companies are now doing quite well, lining there pockets with billions$$$ in profits; at the expense of the American people who were told we must all do our part (except for the wealthiest citizen, who got a tax cut). And the biggest loser, the American child of course. Cut Cuts cuts to education, health care funding, etc f-ing fascism, etc.

It is critical that the community (the people of California) realize that this is a round of cuts coming after 3 or 4 consecutive years of cuts - we have already cut to the bone. Education needs to be made a priority because it is literally bleeding to death in our state. I hope we can get some momentum and support behind the legislation to increase school funding, because without it, we are amputating!
Get Brown's legislation on the ballot, and talk to your neighbors about it, please. It's passage is critical to the financial outlook of our schools.

Yes, Waller is the same person who had the great idea of serving dinner to the highest bidders... (oil execs won), and now she is bringing her buddies to the party. Really, can't we find better (local) candidates to fill these jobs, including Wallers!?!

Well said, Paguras. And is Waller the same employee who has allowed top oil execs to buy her time and ear, while serving them dinner? Wow... sounds like some serious judgement issues from Waller and Bahl...
