So the wicked witch of the soggy, mossy Northwest (my primary home) scooped up her mobile phone windfall and deposited it in an exclusive beach community (my second home) at the feet of people who could help her the most. I am so sorry.

It is rumored that a mosquito would die in a room full of bloodless technocrats. A prophecy for the despised insects who serve Wendy?

My home is not a safe place for a 7 pound anything. My 20 pound cat--on a diet and none too happy about it--would have him for lunch.

AZ2SB: Okay, check the speed. Also consider the import is fated to end up a mangled mound of metal when it takes on the heavier, sturdier American car. A Honda challenging a Cadillac is sheer hubris.

Editors seem more concerned with the size and font of headlines than with contents of articles. But considering the staff cutting, loss of ad revenue and diminished attention to factual, objective journalism, it's no wonder that proofreaders didn't even blanch at DRIVER IN CRASH WITH MALDONADO'S WIFE WAS ON METH. Acting on the imagined teaser that Mrs. M. was a passenger and possibly on meth herself, I clicked on the article.

Shame on me. My apologies to Mrs. Maldonado.

I've never eaten at a Chick-Fil-A and can't debate the statement that it's a healthy alternative to hamburger joints. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure the franchise doesn't use free range chickens and that nugget looks greasy.

It's useful to know if a business owner's beliefs are counter to my own. I don't inadvertently purchase good and services from businesses that fund politicians and policies I disagree with. Boycotting may be an ineffective protest tool, but it's something.

Grimm bought the property for a vacation rental, not a primary residence. Part of the attraction includes a close up and personal view of celebrities. Disappointed visitors aren't getting the best bang for the buck because the stars won't come out and play. The fact that Mr. Grimm estimates a $500,00 loss over the next ten years because Mr. Costner values his privacy is not the movie star's fault.

My husband and I were married at Trinity Church as were our daughter and son-in-law twenty-seven years later. His grandmother and my mother were active in church affairs for many years. I'm glad to know Trinity extended a helping hand to victims of the economic holocaust and hope the ecumenical community will find new ways to help those bumped off the ladder of success.

There are ten times more agents assigned to the northwest border than needed, and they're getting into mischief. A congressman and senator called the agency on the carpet for detaining anyone who doesn't look like a WASP, grilling 'suspects' long after having proof of residency and citizenship. There are more enterprising ICE employees stalking aliens in and near the logging town of Forks, hundreds of miles away from the nearest border crossing, than residents of the logging town. If you don't look like all-American Jack and Jill, you're in trouble.

Dog doesn't fit the mold. If that freak of nature set up housekeeping in Bellingham to arrest the Quaids, his synapses are misfiring. Randy and Evi may be crazy, but they're not stupid. Mr. Chapman is both.
