It won't fly, need to do more about the pension fund debacle. Our past and present government have dug a pension hole that the taxpayers will never be able to pay.

As a Republican, doesn't Mr. Caruso believe in no government handouts? I guess that doesn't apply when you are rich and want a government handout. I would rather my tax dollars go to someone that really needs it. If he can't afford to build there, he shouldn't have bought it. How much money has he donated to the County Supes political war chests?

Most of the construction jobs will most likely go to workers from out of Santa Barbara, they work for less. The staff they hire to then run and manage the hotel will come from out of town, the only jobs that will be filled from within Santa Barbara will be the minimum wage jobs. Caruso must think that if he drags his feet long enough, that everyone will be so frustrated that he will get his way. Now that it's all paid for, bulldoze and plant wildflowers!
