Blah, Thank you for having the courage to speak sense about what the real issues at hand are and NOT the "lets jump on the bandwagon" approach that is all too simple.

Unfortunately too many ( but not all of them ) of our so called media sources, as well as politicians ( and that includes many of the Admins at UCSB ) are lazy thinkers and more interested in saving their jobs, and reputation and not being honest, than actually solving the problem. It's rare out here to to find someone that actually says what they are thinking, ( instead of what they think they should say ) and I say shame on them !!

Folks, consider that maybe this is all about getting attention and publicity for their cause. You cannot buy this kind of attention: so the right to life "weirdos" are just doing what the other side, the "gender bigot feminist" are also quite skilled at, keeping an issue alive and milking it for all they can get, even if it does involve lies and half truths.

Meanwhile the rest of us are too busy to care much as we are working to pay the bills...

I'm thinking that maybe both sides here deserve each other ..??

AutoCoalition, your arguments are like a broken record, irrelevant, outdated and inaccurate. So save your keyboard strokes for some other forum, noOne is reading your dribble..

I'ts starting to look like this place is crawling with financial criminals ! At least, unlike with the Obama administration, some of them are actually being prosecuted. AND I cannot help but wonder IF Nick Welsh had reported on the relationship between Cole and Prenatt IF he might have been punished ?? How can leaving something that substantial out of the piece be by accident ?

Yes, "AutoCoalition" and their annoying inaccurate (and predictable ) diatribe has gotten very old. As a bicyclist I recognize I am at risk and have responsibilities BUT to not see that automobile drivers ALSO have a responsibility to use their vehicle safely and abide by some basic rules is insane.

I suggest that you move to LA where you can drive your "solidly built car" all you want at high speeds on endless slabs of manicured concrete. Then get back to us and let us know how well that is working.

Lisa, you omitted one *very important point:

Consider where you live and what the impact your animal will have on others, namely neighbors, especially IF it is a noisy dog.

SB is crawling with noisy, obnoxious Yap dogs whose owners apparently did not consider others when adopting a pet..

OK, Now let the polemic begin.

The usual suspects will no doubt make their divisive comments in no short time.

Folks that never ride a bike at all ( and seem to hate them and their riders) will argue their point of view, while the "bicycle bigots" will no doubt be shouting them down.

Those of us in the middle, who recognize that Bicycles AND Automobiles are here to stay, AND those that use them need to find sane ways to exist using the same resources, namely roads and paths, are left puzzled by the insanity of the arguing !

Take a deep breathe folks !
