this is absolutely outrageous. WTF is going on with the current Board of Supervisors?? I thought they were the ones that were going to PROTECT the Gaviota Coast- i put in time and money for doreen farr under that assumption. so because the bixby owners or agents are democrats or once worked for bill wallace we r supposed to look the other way and not ask for strict enforcement? uh uh. thanks for the Coastal Commission-maybe they can bring this county into the 21st (or 20th) century.

Chris have you calculated the cost of Mike Brown's reign? I think there are people in the auditor's office and human resources who could help you- the claims, the lawsuits, etc? once brown is gone more people will talk.

hmm...this story is not up to Chris M's usual standards- especially considering the depth of stories he has done in the past on the county, mike brown, etc---- while the city of tea party and city of bell-inspired "public employees" salary stories have their place-what I'd like to see is more about this new ceo, what she's done in san diego, and ultimately a closer look at the damage mike brown leaves in his wake, etc. there is zero story in the contract this board offered- well within or below comparable counties compensation---

It is not unusual for jurisdictions to fund major public safety projects in this manner. Perhaps one of the "just say no" crowd could name ONE jurisdiction, anywhere, that built a new jail or public safety facility and provided all the attendant services through their regular budgeting process.

moral integrity? I;'m presuming, VLHAMILTON, that you are being sarcastic; by not showing up for the hearing on an important neighborhood appeal, Das demonstrated the lack of courage to participate in the public process he was elected to. shame on him.

Hey Nick- the real challenge is figuing out what the COUNTY EXECUTIVES make- ever since they turned the Civil Service system on its head and created nebulous "leadership" titles with huge ranges of salary, its virtually impossible to identify who makes what.
