    ...Excessive Heat Watch in effect for Los Angeles and Ventura
    County coast and valleys and the Santa Barbara County south coast
    Monday and Tuesday...
    .Gusty northerly winds will impact the Ventura and Los Angeles
    County Mountains as well as the Santa Clarita, western San
    Fernando and eastern Ventura County Valleys today. Wind gusts
    between 40 and 50 mph can be expected.
    A moderate Santa Ana wind event is expected to increase northeast
    winds across eastern Ventura and western Los Angeles Counties
    Sunday night through Tuesday afternoon. Strong high pressure in
    combination with the winds will produce record setting hot
    temperatures across southwest California. The hottest days are
    expected to be Monday and Tuesday when highs near or in excess of
    100 degrees are anticipated across coastal and valley regions of
    Los Angeles and Ventura counties, including the Santa Monica
    Mountains, as well as the south coast of Santa Barbara County.
    Overnight temperatures will be quite warm, especially in the
    foothills and Santa Monica Mountains where temperatures will only
    drop to the mid to upper 70s and possibly lower 80s.

    AFTERNOON...
    ...EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING
    THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING...
    * WINDS...North to northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph
    through early this afternoon. The strongest winds will occur
    through Newhall Pass, Porter Ranch, and in the Moorpark area.
    * TEMPERATURES...100-106 degrees on Monday and Tuesday.
    Overnight lows in the upper 60s and 70s. Isolated lower 80s
    possible in the foothills and mountains.
    * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will make driving difficult, especially
    for high profile vehicles. This includes Highways 118, 23, and
    Interstate 5. The very high temperatures create a dangerous
    situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Temperatures
    inside vehicles, even if the windows are partially open, can
    quickly rise to life- threatening levels.
