  • Hydrologic Outlook for Eastern Sierra Slopes of Inyo County County, California
  • Hydrologic Outlook issued June 17 at 12:33AM PDT until June 22 at 9:00PM PDT by NWS
  • Effective: Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 12:33 a.m.
  • Expires: Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 9 p.m.
  • An extended period of hot temperatures will increase snowmelt at
elevations above 11000 feet along the eastern Sierra Nevada of
Inyo County. Creeks, streams and rivers will see an increase in
flows over the weekend and likely through next week.
Flows in creeks, streams and rivers are expected to peak at
similar high flows or potentially in excess of previous high flows
    that occurred earlier this month.
Extra caution should be exercised as exhaustion or
unconsciousness from hypothermia could set in within 30 minutes
from water below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Always wear a properly
fitted life jacket for all water activities.
Minor flooding could occur near creeks as well as a few low water
crossings on some roadways. Remember, never driver through flooded
roadways or around barricades. Also, pastureland or farmland
adjacent to creeks, streams or rivers could experience areas of
    standing water.
