To Catch Lit Moon;’s World Shakespeare Festival

Between Thursday, October 12 and Sunday, October 22, Santa
Barbara’s stages will be transformed by seven cutting-edge theater
companies performing radical reinterpretations of the Bard’s
classic tales. If you want to be part of the performing arts
revolution, you’ve got 11 days to make an appearance and (now) five
reasons to forgo a night of Netflix for some live theater.

{1} The productions included in this festival are far from
traditional. Come prepared for shows that are experimental,
provocative, political, and controversial—not quite ye olde schoole
plays you remember from your high school English class.

{2} Forty-nine of the directors and performers taking part in
this year’s productions have never set foot in the United States
before—they deserve a warm welcome.

{3} With Santa Barbara’s Theatre Artists Group and Lit Moon
Theatre Company showcasing their work, this is your chance to see
how our fair city measures up to the best in new international
theater.

{4} The festival includes a rich lineup of artsy soirées—not to
be missed if you like a good party.

{5} You just happen to be on the spot of the nation’s only
international Shakespeare festival, so no excuses.
