Following a skirmish over creative control, The
Price of Paradise
will be shown at the Santa Barbara International Film
Festival
at its full 42-minute length. After the documentary
about housing costs was submitted to the festival by filmmaker and
former Housing and Redevelopment employee Lisa Snider, the County
Executive Office demanded it be resubmitted with editorial changes.
The county later re-submitted to the film festival in both edited
and non-edited versions. The latter was accepeted for
screening.

The Price of Paradise is scheduled to screen Friday,
January 26 at 7 p.m. at Marjorie Luke Theater; and Monday, January
29 at 10 a.m. at the Victoria Street Theater.
