Arroyo Burro Beach Receives F From Heal the Bay

In what’s become a seasonal right of passage, Heal the Bay has issued its annual report card, stating – once again – that Santa Barbara’s Arroyo Burro beach ranks among the dirtiest in the entire state. While the number of Santa Barbara beaches making Heal the Bay’s hit list has decreased over the past several years due to various clean-up efforts, the county still got short shrift in the L.A.-based organization’s report. Seventy-five percent of Santa Barbara’s beaches were given either excellent or good marks, but according to Heal the Bay, that percentage is second worst only to Los Angeles County.
