Philip Jones, the convicted murderer of UCSB graduate student Jarrod Davidson, died from lung cancer on 5/25 at a hospice center in Vacaville. Jones – who admitted using a high-powered rifle to shoot and kill his former son-in-law on the front step of Davidson’s Goleta home in 2004 – was serving life without the possibility of parole. In related news, Jarrod’s ex-wife, Kelee Davidson – who is serving time for her role in the murder – is scheduled to be released from prison in early July.
