Nearly 200 activists marched up State Street on 6/7, demanding a single-payer healthcare system in California so every resident has access to care. It was the 300th such rally the organization Health Care for All (HCA) has staged in California since embarking on its marathon, 365-day “One Care Now” campaign last summer. Assemblymember Pedro Nava co-authored the single-payer legislation favored by HCA activists, SB 840, but conceded Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger would probably veto it.
