Brit Swims Santa Barbara Channel

Londoner Kevin Murphy, 58, the “King of the English Channel,” brought his swimming crown to Santa Barbara on 9/23, when he swam the 24 miles across the Santa Barbara Channel. Murphy started swimming from Santa Cruz Island, finishing at the Santa Barbara Lighthouse more than 17 hours later. Murphy, who has swum the English Channel 34 times, swam the Santa Barbara Channel with no wetsuit.
