UCSB announced on 10/9 that a $10-million donation from the Charles D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation will fund the establishment of a national program-based at UCSB-focusing on law and neuroscience. Former U.S. Supreme Court justice Sandra Day O’Connor will serve as the honorary chair of the Law and Neuroscience Project, while psychology professor Michael Gazzaniga will serve as director. The program could be up and running by 2008.
