Brief Fire On Fairview Arouses Concern

Residents on upper Fairview Avenue were threatened briefly with the prospect of wildfire raging through their community when sparks from work being done to replace power poles apparently ignited the nearby brush. The fire started shortly before 2 p.m. on 12/2, but thanks to quick response from City, County, and Forest Service engine crews as well as water-dropping helicopters, the fire was contained in less than an hour.
