Miramar’s Environmental Review Begins

The environmental review process for Rick Caruso’s proposed Miramar Resort overhaul is slated to begin on 1/14, with a scoping hearing hosted by Santa Barbara County’s Planning and Developing Department. Caruso’s plan-which includes two restaurants, 202 guest rooms, a beach bar, pools, tennis courts, employee housing structures, and an underground parking lot on the current Miramar site-has drawn the attention of area nonprofit Heal the Ocean, which has questions about the resort’s effect on the water quality of the surrounding area.
