Thuc-Quyen Nguyen, an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry who joined UCSB’s faculty in 2004, has won the university’s Harold J. Plous Award, one of the school’s two most prestigious faculty honors, according to UCSB. The award is given each year to an assistant professor. Nguyen received it for her research and teaching achievements in photophysics and the electronic properties of organic and metal-organic hybrid materials.
