Organic produce on display at Fairview Gardens.

Have you ever looked for a way to become more involved in the foods you eat, while also lending support to our area farmers? Becoming a member of a Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) program may be your answer.

CSA members help farmers by making payments to a farm during the planting and pre-harvest seasons and later collect their prepaid produce on a regular schedule during the actual harvest. Fairview Gardens, operating in Goleta since 1985, offers their CSA Harvest Share Program to Santa Barbarans who seek organically grown products. Memberships vary in both price and timespan, depending on how many weeks of the harvest you would like to retrieve their fruits and vegetables (20-37 weeks) and the size of your family. During each week of your chosen season, you collect your own harvest at the farm every Tuesday or Thursday. An additional perk of the membership is a 10 percent discount on all market stand purchases from Fairview Farms
