A human skull, discovered by hikers on the banks of Atascadero Creek near Patterson Avenue in Goleta this weekend, is reportedly being treated by investigators as a historical find and not evidence of any crime. As the creek area once was inhabited by Native Americans, the skull was reportedly sent to UCSB researchers for examination, whereupon it will be handed to Native American historians.
