The California Highway Patrol is reported that at about 9 a.m. this morning, a tractor-trailer jackknifed on the northbound lanes of Highway 101 near Buellton. The vehicle skidded to a stop in such a way that the leftmost lane is currently closed. CHP spokesman Donald Clotworthy said that removal of the crashed vehicle could mean occasional closing of both lanes and that anybody planning to travel north on the 101 this morning should give themselves extra time to reach their destination. Clotworthy also cautioned that motorists should not take Highway 154, as rain conditions have made this route hazardous.
