SB840 equals health care freedom, security, and opportunity.

A single collector/single-payer financed health care system with one risk pool such as SB 840 (Kuehl), the California Universal Health Care

Act, provides the American ideal of freedom, security and opportunity.

How?

Freedom: You choose any licensed doctor, clinic, or accredited hospital, private or public, and change whenever you want. Doctors can opt in or out.

Security: You have comprehensive medical benefits for life. It’s prepaid by ability to pay, through payroll and income with floors and caps. No entity is overly burdened. Hospitals, doctors, etc. negotiate fair fees for all services for all patients.

Opportunity: Hospitals reduce billing departments and use saved space and money for patient care. Doctors eliminate billing hassles and have more time for patients. Businesses eliminate health benefits personnel and use savings for other needs. Unions delete health benefit negotiations and use resources elsewhere.

SB 840 is the gold standard of private/public health care. It saves money, is sustainable and improves quality and satisfaction. It’s a winner.

Write Governor Schwarzenegger to sign SB 840 and Senator McClintock to co-author. Thank Senator Kuehl and Assemblyman Pedro Nava for authoring and co-authoring.

SB 840 wins first place in health care freedom, security, and opportunity. It will bring us a World Health Organization rating of #1 instead of the current dismal #37.
