Two female high school students called the police on Monday, September 8, to report that an older male had just made lewd comments to them while on campus at Santa Barbara High. The girls, aged 16 and 17 years old, gave a description of the man to police officers, and later called some area friends to tell them what had happened, and provided the same description of the man to the people on the phone.

A few minutes later, officers received a call from one of the females, who reported that the man had been seen on the 800 block of North Milpas Street. Officers responded to the scene, and located the suspect – Justin Wade Sellis, 26 – nearby on the 700 block of West Canon Perdido.

Sellis was detained and later identified by the females as the man in question. He was arrested on charges of annoying or molesting children and transported to the Santa Barbara County Jail, where he was booked on $10,000 bail.
