In an effort to dust off memories from the 1960s, and to celebrate the arrival of the 2008 grape harvest, Oreana Winery (205 Anacapa St.) has brought Quicksilver Messenger Service out of retirement to play for Rocktoberfest, an all-day jam fest on Saturday, October 18, from 1 to 6 p.m., with proceeds benefiting S.B.’s Unity Shoppe charity. Quicksilver Messenger Service has gained wide popularity with psychedelic rock enthusiasts around the globe. Area acts Spencer the Gardner, Tiki Tuesday, and Tommy and the High Pilots will perform while the grapes are crushed and the wine is made. In between bands, try your luck at putt-putt golf, a pumpkin toss, or dunk-the-winemaker! $15. Call 962-5857 or visit oreanawinery.com for more info.
