Santa Barbara County Fire investigators are looking into a blaze at an Isla Vista residence early on Thursday morning. They say the fire was an act of arson.

Fire crews responded to a residence at 6775 Pasado Rd. around 4 a.m. this morning and quickly extinguished a fire that had destroyed two vehicles, damaged another, and downed live power lines. A press release from County Fire spokesperson Capt. Eli Iskow noted that traffic was blocked for about 90 minutes and that some residents were temporarily displaced as a result of the fire and ensuing efforts to contain it.

Iskow said investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set. He encouraged anyone with information about the matter to call (805) 686-5074. Tipsters may speak anonymously if they wish.
