HotCookie.com Opens Store

Christina Gumpert was once a woman with an oven and a dream. In 2004, she started HotCookie.com, an Internet company with a heart and a sense of good taste. From the site, you could order cookies and have them sent around the world or down your block, and if you ordered for someone who was close, Gumpert would probably make the delivery herself. Now those who hunger for her famous butter cookie or a peanut butter chocolate chip can buy them at her recently opened retail store at 2018 Cliff Dr. (564-2397). “I’m glad I was able to start online and establish a customer and wholesale base,” Gumpert said about opening the store. “I have a great staff, and I am in a great and very supportive town, so I am pretty positive.” The new store also features new and somewhat unusual baked goodies, starting with an agave-sweetened vegan cookie, orange almond biscotti, a brownie cookie, a lemon ginger, a trail mix, a snickerdoodle, all in addition to the original varieties. Not that HotCookie.com will stop there, for Gumpert claimed, “We are in the process of adding a Stevia-sweetened cookie and a gluten-free cookie!”
